Material Recipes & Design Mixes
Starting proportions for concrete grades, tile bond and waterproofing.
- 3000 psi Concrete Design Mix (≈21 MPa)Typical per-m³ starting quantities for 3000 psi concrete used in PCC, light slabs and non-critical members. Indicative trial-mix starting point only. Final proportions must come from a lab trial mix (ACI 211.1) using your actual cement, sand and aggregate, approved by the consultant.
- 4000 psi Concrete Design Mix (≈28 MPa)Typical per-m³ quantities for 4000 psi structural concrete for footings, columns, beams and slabs. Indicative trial-mix starting point only. Final proportions must come from a lab trial mix (ACI 211.1) using your actual cement, sand and aggregate, approved by the consultant.
- 5000 psi Concrete Design Mix (≈35 MPa)Typical per-m³ quantities for 5000 psi concrete for transfer slabs, high-rise columns and post-tensioned members. Indicative trial-mix starting point only. Final proportions must come from a lab trial mix (ACI 211.1) using your actual cement, sand and aggregate, approved by the consultant.
- 6000 psi Concrete Design Mix (≈41 MPa)Typical per-m³ quantities for 6000 psi high-strength concrete. Requires strict QC and plant batching. Indicative trial-mix starting point only. Final proportions must come from a lab trial mix (ACI 211.1) using your actual cement, sand and aggregate, approved by the consultant.
- Tile Bond (Cementitious Tile Adhesive) RecipePolymer-modified cement tile adhesive similar to EN 12004 class C1/C2, for floor and wall tiles on cement backgrounds. Use a branded product where specified; this is a site/plant reference formula.
- Cementitious Waterproofing (Two-Component) RecipePolymer-modified flexible cementitious coating for bathrooms, water tanks, basements and terraces under screed or tiles.
- PU (Polyurethane) Liquid Waterproofing SystemLiquid-applied polyurethane membrane for exposed roofs and terraces. PU is a factory product — follow the manufacturer's data sheet; this is the typical application build-up and consumption.
Test Method Statements
Step-by-step site and lab testing procedures with acceptance criteria.
- Concrete Cylinder Crushing (Compressive Strength) TestSampling, casting, curing and testing 150×300 mm concrete cylinders to confirm compressive strength.
- Concrete Slump TestQuick workability check of fresh concrete at site before placing.
- Reinforcement Steel Tensile & Bend TestTesting rebar samples for yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and bend to confirm grade (e.g. Grade 60).
- Field Density Test (FDT) – Sand Cone MethodChecking compaction of backfill and sub-base layers against the lab maximum dry density.
- Modified Proctor Compaction TestLab test to determine maximum dry density and optimum moisture content of soil.
- Plate Load TestField test to estimate the bearing capacity and settlement of soil at foundation level.
- Rebound Hammer (Schmidt Hammer) TestNon-destructive surface hardness test to assess concrete uniformity and estimate strength.
- Concrete Core TestDrilling and testing cores to check in-place strength when cylinder results are low.
- Brick Compressive Strength & Water Absorption TestTesting burnt clay bricks for strength and absorption before approval.
- Water Ponding / Flood Test for WaterproofingChecking waterproofing of roofs, bathrooms and tanks before covering.
