    Engineering Backup — Concrete Works

    1. Method of Measurement

    • Concrete is measured in Cft / m³ of net finished dimensions as shown on drawings.
    • No deduction for reinforcement, embedded items or openings up to 1 Sft (0.1 m²) in area.
    • Formwork is measured as contact area (Sft) of concrete surfaces supported; slab-to-beam intersections are not double counted.
    • Beam depth below slab only is measured as beam where cast monolithic with slab.

    2. Materials & Quality Requirements

    • Cement: Ordinary Portland Cement conforming to ASTM C150 Type-I (or BS EN 197-1), fresh and stored dry.
    • Fine & coarse aggregates: clean, hard, well graded, conforming to ASTM C33; free from clay, silt and organic matter.
    • Water: potable and clean; water-cement ratio as low as practicable consistent with workability (typically 0.45–0.55).
    • Mixing by mechanical mixer for not less than 2 minutes; placed within 30 minutes of mixing; no retempering.
    • Compaction with immersion vibrators; curing kept continuously moist for not less than 14 days.
    • Formwork rigid, mortar-tight, oiled; stripping per Engineer's approval (sides 24–48 hrs, slab soffits 7–14 days with re-propping).

    3. Sampling & Testing

    • Cylinders 150 × 300 mm cast and cured per ASTM C31; tested for compressive strength per ASTM C39.
    • One set (3 cylinders) per lot or per day's pour, whichever is more frequent.
    • Slump test per ASTM C143 for each batch delivery / sampling.

    4. Basis of This Analysis

    • Mix: 1:2:4 — Machine Mix (≈3000 PSI); dry volume = wet volume × 1.54, split by mix ratio; 1 bag cement = 1.25 Cft.
    • Mixing: Site machine mix (mixer + winch).
    • Shuttering: Suspended Slab / Landing; factor (Sft/Cft) = contact surface ÷ concrete volume; mean of 1 size(s) = 2.00 Sft/Cft × 100.00 Cft = 200.00 Sft.
    • Testing: Rs. 3,500.00 per set ÷ (50 m³ × 35.3147 = 1,765.74 Cft) = Rs. 1.98 / Cft.

Values are standard engineering guidance; adopt project specifications where they differ.

    User manual

    1. Sign in or create a free account

Use the form on this page to sign in or register a free resource account. A signed-in, verified account is required to edit, save and print. A company ERP subscription is not required.

    2. Name your analysis

Enter a descriptive name, report date and BOQ item number. The available calculation is Providing & Laying of 1:2:4 Concrete for 100 Cft. Excavation and Steel are not yet available.

    3. Enter your rates

Replace sample cement, sand, crush, labour and transportation rates with verified quotations. Check each displayed unit before entering a rate. Concrete quantities and the 100 Cft basis are fixed in this version.

    4. Review the calculation

Materials are quantity × rate. Wastage applies to material cost. Labour and transportation are added next. Winch cost applies to materials including wastage plus labour and transportation. Overhead and profit apply to that combined subtotal; tax applies after overhead and profit. Total cost divided by 100 gives the rate per Cft.

    5. Save and reopen

Select Save to store the analysis in your account. Open My saved analyses to reopen it. Saving an opened analysis updates that record; New starts a separate analysis. Unsaved edits are not automatically stored. The bin button deletes a saved record after confirmation.

    6. Print an A4 report

Select Print A4 / PDF and choose A4 paper. Choose Save as PDF in the print dialog to download a PDF. The report includes the analysis, date, BOQ item number and Powered by CM PRO footer—not the manual, FAQs or policies. Disable the browser’s own headers and footers if you do not want its URL and timestamp.

    7. Use your company logo

Free reports use CM PRO branding. A company with the purchased QS module enabled and a logo configured in Admin Settings can use its logo in the report header. The Powered by CM PRO footer remains.

    Frequently asked questions

Is Rate Analysis Pro free to use?

Yes. A free, verified CM PRO account is required to use, save and print analyses. Your own company logo requires the paid QS module.

Which rate analyses are available now?

The current version calculates 1:2:4 concrete for 100 Cft. Excavation and Steel are placeholders, not working analyses. A complete rate databank is not included yet.

Are the starting rates current market prices?

No. They are sample values, not live supplier prices or an approved schedule of rates. Replace them with verified quotations and check units, location, date and scope.

Can I change concrete quantities or the mix?

Not in the current template. Rates and percentage allowances are editable; quantities and the 100 Cft basis are fixed. This tool does not certify concrete strength or replace an approved mix design.

Can I reopen my analysis on another device?

Saved analyses are linked to your account and can be reopened after signing in with that account. Save changes before leaving the page.

How do I download a PDF?

Choose Print A4 / PDF, then Save as PDF in your browser’s print dialog. Choose A4 paper and review the preview before saving.

Does a free account allow a custom logo?

No. Custom report-header logos require the purchased QS module enabled and a company logo configured in Admin Settings. The CM PRO attribution footer remains.

    Usage policies

    Estimates, not certified rates

Rate Analysis Pro is an estimating aid. Sample values and allowances are not supplier quotations, tender approvals, an official schedule of rates or engineering certification. Have a qualified quantity surveyor or engineer review the analysis before procurement, billing or contractual use.

    Units, taxes and local requirements

The template displays Rs. and Cft. Confirm rate units, currency and applicable tax, labour, transport and contract requirements. Editable percentages are user assumptions, not a statement of statutory rates in any jurisdiction.

    Account data and privacy

Saved analyses belong to the account that creates them. Use your own account, avoid unnecessary personal or confidential information in names and BOQ references, and delete records you no longer need. Consult the platform Privacy & Data policy for wider terms.

    Saving and deletion

Edits are stored only when you select Save. Keep exported copies of important estimates. Deleting an analysis removes it from your saved list; the tool does not provide a restore button.

    Branding and attribution

Free reports retain CM PRO branding. Custom header logos require the purchased QS module and a configured company logo. The Powered by CM PRO footer remains on all reports.

    Responsible use

Only enter information and branding you are entitled to use. Do not present sample inputs as verified market data or outputs as certified estimates. Review reports and obtain any approvals required for their intended use.

Read the platform Security & Policy and Privacy & Data policies.
